DIWALI SPECIAL RECIPE

Crispy & special

Shakkar pare

Ingredients

3 cup Maida flour
1/2 cup ghee
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
oil to fry
1 pinch cooking soda

 

Method

  1. Heat milk and add the butter, sugar, salt and cooking soda in a mixing bowl.
  2. Stir well until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add Maida little by little to make a non-sticky dough.
  4. Let it rest for 2 hours.
  5. Knead again after 5 mins to make a smooth dough.
  6. Divide into two. Roll each ball into thick round.
  7. Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut out the sides and cut thin strips.
  8. Cut into diamonds discarding the uneven edges.
  9. Heat oil and slide the cut squares slowly to hot oil in batches.
  10. Fry on low to medium low heat. Stir the pieces gently while they fry and turn them both ways. They are done when they are a deep golden brown.
  11. Drain over paper towel and repeat to finish and Enjoy.
