NUTELLA BROWNIES RECIPE
Rich, fudgy, dense and completely outrageous brownies that are ideal for a party and also perfect for tea time.
Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 36 mins
Serves: 12
REQUIRED INGREDIENTS
1/3, cup unsalted butter, softened
½, cup brown sugar
2, large eggs
2 tsp, vanilla essence
1 1/4 cups, Nutella, divided
1/2 tsp, salt
3/4 cup, all-purpose flour
Optional: 3/4 cup (135g) semi-sweet chocolate chips and sea salt
METHOD
Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C).
Line the bottom and sides of an 8-inch or 9-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil or parchment. Set aside.
With a stand mixer, beat the butter on high speed in a large bowl until smooth and creamy, for about 1 minute.
Add the brown sugar.
Add the eggs and vanilla essence. Beat on medium-high speed until combined, then beat in 1 cup Nutella and salt. Mix until smooth and fluffy. With the mixer running on low speed, add the flour, mixing just until combined.
Pour the batter into baking pan. Drop the remaining Nutella on top. Using a knife, swirl the Nutella into the batter. Top with a sprinkle of sea salt.
Bake the brownies for 32-36 minutes. Keep your eye on them and test with a toothpick to determine doneness. If the toothpick comes out with only a couple moist crumbs, the brownies are done. The brownies may take a few minutes longer; all ovens vary. Mine took 36 minutes.
Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan set on a wire rack.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
CHOCOLATE NUTELLA TOFFEE ICEBOX CAKE RECIPE
An amazing cake made with chocolate wafer cookies and Nutella. Your kids are going to love these!
Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 20 mins
Serves: 10
REQUIRED INGREDIENTS
3 cups, heavy cream
1 tbsp, vanilla essence
1 ½ package of chocolate wafers
1 cup Nutella
1 cup, plain toffee bits or the chocolate-covered toffee bits
METHOD
Place the bowl on a stand mixer and the whisk attachment in the refrigerator until chilled.
Remove the bowl and attach it to your mixer, then whip the heavy cream and vanilla together until soft peaks form. Do not sweeten the cream.
In another bowl, microwave the Nutella on high for 20-30 seconds (depending on the strength of your microwave) then remove it from the microwave and stir. You want the Nutella to be soft and runny enough to drizzle (like the consistency of hot fudge sauce) but not so hot that it is melted.
On a plate or cake pedestal, place one chocolate wafer in the center and then surround it with 6 additional wafers so you have a circle of cookies plus one in the middle.
Cover the wafer layer with a ½ cup scoop of whipped cream. Using an offset spatula or the back of a large spoon, spread the whipped cream evenly to cover the wafers.
Drizzle a heaping tablespoon of Nutella over the layer of whipped cream and using your offset spatula or spoon, then gently blend the Nutella into the whipped cream. Sprinkle with a small layer of toffee bits.
Repeat the layers of chocolate wafers, whipped cream, Nutella and toffee bits until you have 9-10 layers, ending with a layer of whipped cream.
Garnish with a sprinkle of toffee bits and a dollop of Nutella in the center.
Refrigerate for at least 5 hours or overnight. When ready to serve, slice and serve immediately.
Note: Cake may also be placed in the freezer for a more ice cream-like consistency and to make the slicing a little easier.
